| Customer Reviews: They didn't even last a full workout. (1 day) June 28, 2010 Kirk D. Miller (Cleveland Oh) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ok, so, it was back day and I like to lift heavy. My hands usually give out before I'm finished so I got some of these hooks. They fit well and are wide and comfortable on the wrist. However, as I was doing some lighter finishing reps, the hook on my right hand (and my right hand) gave out. The weight was 250# and I was doing shrugs on a machine that allowed my hands to rest naturally at their sides (but hold the weight). Don't get me wrong, the hooks are strong enough so that I couldn't bend them back but too weak to do their intended job.
They are going to have to go back and I guess I will go back to the most reliable thing I can find... MY HANDS! TKO hooks blow. Spend your money on something that will make your hands stronger.
Love em February 16, 2010 J. Sislin (Oregon) I was using the hooks that are separated looks like there's 2 hooks ...anyway way to big for my Gurl hands so I wasn't able to max out with em ...these are way better the hook fits right in my palm (=
Great Product December 23, 2006 Literatus_Fortis (OH, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
TKO hooks are a little more expensive than other brands, but they are worth the cost. I've been lifting with a pair of these for about six months and they've worked out really well. They give just the right amount of enclosure and they are very secure, at least at the weights I've been using them with (~250 - 300lbs). They do put a little stress on the wrists, but as long as you don't intend to use them as a total crutch it shouldn't be a problem. Even the rubber coating holds up remarkably well under use, which surprised me. Overall, a sturdy, well crafted product.
